Sør-Varanger film society (SVF) was established in 1977 and is a non-commersial organisation affiliated The Norwegian Federation of Film Societies (NFK). Our main task is to screen films the local cinema normally do not.

We aim to be a forum for people who is interessted in quality films not just as art, but also as pure entertainment.

The screenings is for members only, membership is mandatory and gives normally access to all film societies throughout Norway.

Minimum age to obtain membership is 15.


The Board

The board - elected at the annual meeting March 2007:

The board is elected for one year at a time - next election will be during February/March 2008.


Tickets & membership

Sør-Varanger film society perform screenings in the local cinema "Kirkenes Kino" in the town of Kirkenes in nothern Norway (close to the Russian border). The screenings are normally on Saturdays at 2:00 PM. Tickets and membership can be bought before every screening.

Membership is mandatory and the fee is NOK 50.- The ticket fee is NOK 50.-
